Business Sentences L 20-40

Just catching up on a LOT of unwritten business papers… ;P But there are sooo maaany *cries* so just little on each.

L20 “Why is running my own business a way to guarantee my employment in 2030?”

Hmmm. Let me list the ways: 1) I can control whether or not I stay employed (so long as my business is successful). 2) I can directly control all of our marketing and product changes to better appeal to the public and therefore stay in business. 3) I can control my finances to a very precise extent and adjust the product production process accordingly to make a decent amount of money. Aaaand I am apparently a control freak…

L25 “How can the strategy of going the extra mile help me attain these goals?”

Assuming “these goals” refers to my dream job, income, and overall lifestyle, going the extra mile in work can make a huge difference in attaining them. The more effort you put into something, the more you get out of it )or the easier you attain it.) So if I “go the extra mile” so to speak, my goals will be realized faster than if I simply refused to do a little extra work.

L30 “How much money won’t I have at age 70 if I keep watching TV? Is TV worth this?”

Well, my family doesn’t watch much TV at all, so I will only not have about (hopefully) 420,748.02$ (the number was calculated with minor interest for the first few years). While some people might say that TV is absolutely not worth giving up that sum of cash, I take the opposite stance. watching television with my family on the weekend nights is something I look forward to at the end of every week, as it allows me to relax and snuggle with my dog while surrounded by family. No, I will not be giving up television with my family anytime in the future.

L35 “Would I rather start a small business or become a minimum-wage apprentice to a mentor? Why?”

Hmmmm……It really depends on what I end up doing. But since right now I’m focusing on fine arts as a possible business, I would probably become a minimum wage apprentice for several years to get a really good grip on my skills and then begin my own business from there.

L40 “What would I have to give up in order to save 10% of my income?”

Right now I don’t actually have an income… :( Hopefully that will change soon. But I would imagine that if I got a minimum wage-paying job of a lifeguard (my current aim) I might not be able to get popcorn at the movies (a rare trip to the big screen with my friends is a regular thing), go out to eat at Costco after classes (packed lunches, here I come..!), or indulge in the more expensive stores when shopping with my friend (we only go to thrift stores at the moment anyways). But then again, if I could pay for all these things out of my meticulously saved allowance, a job would mean that…nothing would change except for more money going into…savings!
